History Of The Crown: Miss Rodeo Virginia

Posted on April 20, 2021 by Miss Rodeo America

Before 2009 the last Miss Rodeo Virginia to hold the title was in 1991. With a bit of a gap in reigns, there was no crown passed down when the state holder was reestablished in 2009. Charli (Whacker) Grefenstette decided it was time to bring this amazing organization back into action by becoming Miss Rodeo Virginia 2009. The board decided to design a crown with the state in mind. This crown was created by Skyline Vaquero Silversmith. The flowers throughout the crown are the state flower of Dogwood. While the stones inside each flower contain the color Virginia Blue. These two symbols are very common throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia and it is such an honor to have the opportunity to wear the crown at each event.
