Miss Rodeo America Trademark Usage

Miss Rodeo America Inc., (“MRAI”) has conducted the Miss Rodeo America Pageant since 1955 and is a leader in promoting the sport of professional rodeo.  In connection with its Pageant, Miss Rodeo America, Inc. is the owner of several trademarks that are registered at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, including the marks MISS RODEO, MISS RODEO AMERICA, and the Miss Rodeo America logo.  Only MRAI, its affiliated state pageants, its authorized sponsors, and others authorized by MRAI are allowed to use these trademarks.

In recent years, we have found that there are many local pageants and other events related to the sport of rodeo that are conducted using terms that can be confused with MRAI’s trademarks. This includes any type of rodeo pageant that includes or incorporates the term MISS RODEO or any similar variation of these marks. The Miss Rodeo America pageant and our related state pageants are widely recognized and MRAI has extensively promoted our services for many decades. This has led to wide recognition of our trademarks. As a trademark holder we are required to police the use of our trademarks, and we regularly take efforts to ensure that only authorized parties use our marks.

Consistent with our mission of promoting the sport of rodeo, we recognize that there are many local rodeo events throughout the country. Our goal is to help foster the sport, and that includes our efforts to help those local events that can have a positive effect on the sport.

In keeping with that philosophy, we have implemented a local event program which will allow local rodeo events that meet our basic requirements to use our MISS RODEO trademark to promote their local event. Our program allows us to help local organizations promote their event, while ensuring our trademarks are protected.

If you are interested in our local event program, please complete and submit the attached application form. We will review your application and, when approved, we will allow you to use our trademarks to help promote your event.
